Slade Taylor Edling was born January 8 to Thomas and Rita Edling in Wharton, TX. Slade was diagnosed with a very aggressive type of brain tumor in October 2008. After 4 month battle with the disease Slade left this world too early on February 9, 2009.
Slade was a graduate of Columbia High.  The class slogan was “Save the best for last” and the class song was a Bob Segar classic, Turn the Page. Soon after graduation Slade moved to College Station.. After attending Blinn College in Bryan, TX for 3 semesters Slade transferred to Texas A&M University earning a bachelor degree in Agronomy. Soon after graduation Slade then moved to Austin , TX and went to work for Benchmark Landscaping.
Slade was an avid outdoors man who loved hunting and fishing with friends and family. He enjoyed taking trips to the family ranch in Nixon, TX. He also enjoyed riding ATV’s and playing golf. Slade also began to develop a love for skiing.
He was a devoted son, brother and friend to all. Unconsciously he impacted the lives of every person he came in contact with.
